In honor of christinaavera.com launching 6 months ago, I thought I would share pictures from some of my favorite shoots... as well as my blogging process because I do get a lot of questions on how I do things! I will start by saying that I am still learning all of my methods and techniques, so I am not an expert by any means.
I pick my outfits based on what is trending and my own personal style. There are a lot of things I love about what is 'in' but also a lot of things I view as questionable, haha. So I will never blog about something that I am not 100% confident in. I am also gravitating towards more cost efficient pieces because a lot of my followers are college students that pay for things themselves. It is always frustrating for me to read other blogger's posts to find their white v-neck, that they claim to be a 'God send,' costs $200. If I do every post something above $100, I always try to share a cheaper dupe of it too!
All of my posts go out on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8am. If you are subscribed you will receive an email normally around 4pm notifying you of the blog post. I just recently started doing more shoots because before I was doing them every three weeks and realized it was much harder. Now I do them every other week and one shoot will cover roughly 2 week's worth of posts. This is why I always have the same make up and hair for two weeks straight, haha.
Devin Travieso, owner of Wayfarer Photography, has been my photographer since about my third ever blog post. (My mom took my first few!) He is seriously amazing! I couldn't thank him enough for always fixing my baby hairs, telling me jokes so I don't fake laugh, and simply pushing me out of comfort zone to get great pictures. I have always been comfortable in front of the camera but I would say 'modeling' clothes and accessories is a whole other playing field. Thankfully, over the past 6 months we have managed to get it down where shoots have become so fun! We both feel so accomplished when we nail certain shots! If you are in San Antonio or around the city, I definitely recommend him!
The past 7 months have truly been an amazing experience. It is a hobby that I have put a lot of time and effort into but I cannot wait to see where the next 6 months will go. I am so thankful for all of my readers and supporters because I do this because of you all!
Keep coming back!
xoxo, Christina Avera

Ever since school started my days have been flying by. I truly understand the saying "there are not enough hours in the day" because of everything I have going on. In the past week alone, I have been working 30 hours while going to school. On top of that is sorority recruitment (AH!). Also, 2 papers, reading assignments, and 2 tests. Oh and of course somewhere in there is blogging. Needless to say I am a tad overwhelmed but nothing I can't handle!
I will say that great things are coming to the blog and a lot more posts will be hitting your screens! I don't know how I am managing to do this but when you are passionate about something, you give it your all right?
This look is just a sneak peak into my fall attire which will consist primarily of plaid, distressed denim, and the color green. You are in for a treat so make sure to come back (:

Last week I hosted my first event as a blogger at The Impeccable Pig boutique. It was such an great experience and opportunity! It makes me so excited for what the future holds for me as a blogger.
The Impeccable Pig has the cutest store set up that is so trendy and crisp. I appreciate stores that are simple and dainty allowing the clothes to speak for themselves, which I feel like this boutique does. It makes the shopping experience that much better. Also, the merchandise is super trendy and versatile. It was so hard to decide what I wanted to buy because I literally fell in love with everything!
After doing this event I look forward to doing so many more with The Impeccable Pig and other boutiques as well!
Obsessed with this outfit from Europe!
See the post, here.
I made a basic black top less boring by putting a statement necklace underneath.
Sorority recruitment is in full swing which means I'm wearing my letters 24/7. How cute is this watermelon shirt though?
Loving the denim skirt trend. Definitely feeling like I am in the 90s.
Check out the post on this outfit, here.
Unfortunately these shorts are from last summer but head over to Voge Boutique to check out every pattern you could possibly dream of!
I love dressing up for themed events! I channeled my version of 80s Madonna.
I love the way Topshop and Jcrew pixie pants fit. I linked some below!
I am hosting my first event at a boutique as a blogger this Thursday. This look is from a post I did announcing the event at The Impeccable Pig. Check out the post, here.
Obsessing over these Adidas shoes from Nordstrom!
Free People tees are so comfortable and are great paired with distressed denim. I linked my fave tops below!
I recently did a post on a new big girl job, which means a new wardrobe. Check out the post, here.
Honestly don't even know what year it is anymore. I am literally wearing what I used to wear when I was little. But then again, I'm not complaining.
Fall is right around the corner and I cannot wait! This being said my wardrobe is in full transition, including my posts. See all the outfit details from this look, here.
So I have mentioned a few times that I started working full time, yes meaning I have a big girl job. I work for Sequel Financial Group doing a little bit of everything at the moment, including social media! It has been a huge adjustment for me in terms of schedule and ultimately the lifestyle. I have only worked at Nordstrom, as a part time sales associate during my Sophomore year of college.
With graduation right around the corner, literally like 4 months away, it was about time I settled down and started figuring out what I am doing with my life. Although, the financial industry is totally new for me, I have already learned so much. I am not 100% past the deer-in-highlights look yet, but I am getting there.
Of course, with a new lifestyle comes a new wardrobe. As my pattern obsessed self enters the business world, I am trying to bring my style with me. The most important thing is finding pieces that can be versatile. What I love about this look is I can go out to dinner or happy hour after work and not look like I totally just came from the office. Also, this top can be worn with denim or even a skirt for a more casual look. Office attire necessity: these pixie pants. So so so comfy and flattering.
What is your business style?
