Let me start by saying, like I mention in my Tips For Packing post, I learned A LOT from my trip last year. I carried around a big pillow, back packet, duffle bag, and suitcase. It was awful! Especially when there are no elevators!
I bought this weekender bag a few months specifically for traveling to Europe for the purpose of a carry on. It is perfect because it has a roomy upper half and a large compartment on the bottom.
Here's what is in my carry on:
Extra pair of clothes
You never know what is going to happen. You can spill a drink on your shirt or your luggage can get lost. The last thing you want is to be stuck in those dirty clothes.
I got this cheap little passport case off Amazon but if you want to pay a little more the Kate Spade cases are so cute!
Since I am going to Europe & all of the plugs are different I need to buy adapters. I got mine off Amazon for super cheap!
Make Up & Jewelry
Always carry these with you! Having your make up with you makes it easy for quick touch ups. Also, jewelry can be heavier so put it in the carry on so you don't max the weight limit on checking bags.
It is super important to carry all expensive items with you at all times! In my carry on I have my computer, Kindle, and camera. Since I read a lot, Kindles are easier to travel with because it doesn't take up as much room as multiple books.
In order to keep my charges and cords from flying everywhere, I packed them all in a nice Tory Burch bag.
